With the current economic climate in our country this holiday season, it’s sometimes difficult to detach ourselves from money problems. Let’s remember, the holidays have nothing to do with money. Retailers and businesses have tried to make spending money, and lots of it, an integral aspect of our experience. Instead of letting financial problems create distress for you this year, why not take this opportunity to make the holidays mean something all together different? Even if you can’t purchase those high dollar gifts, it doesn’t mean that you can’t make a positive difference in someone’s life. Focus on what you do have instead of your inability to spend. Devote a few hours of your time volunteering for those less fortunate than you. Suddenly you will realize how rich you really are. After all, we don’t want our ornaments to take the shape of dollar signs, do we?
